Primorye agricultural product exports could rise to $2.1 bln in 2024 - authorities

VLADIVOSTOK. March 1 (Interfax) - Exports of agricultural products from Russia's Primorsky Territory could increase 10% in 2024 compared to 2023, to $2.1 billion.

"This year, exports of agricultural products [...] should reach $2.1 billion, which is $200 million more than in 2023," the press service of the regional government said.

"The volume of exported products [from Primorye] depends mainly on fish and seafood, but the importing countries also have demand for Russian natural dairy and meat, as well as fat and oil products. Therefore, we will work to increase the value of our exports in these areas," the region's Agriculture Minister Andrei Bronts said.

It was previously reported that exports of agricultural products from Primorye in 2023 reached more than $1.9 billion in value, with $1.5 billion, or 77% of the total volume of exports of agricultural products from the region, coming from fish and seafood. The region exported $289 million worth of soybeans in 2023, as well as $83 million worth of grains, including corn.

Most of the agricultural products from Primorye are supplied to the countries of the Asia-Pacific region: China, the Republic of Korea and Vietnam.
