Quake rocks Ukraine in early hours of Friday

MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - A 3.6-magnitude quake occurred in the Poltava region of Ukraine in the early hours of March 1, Ukrainian media said, citing the website of the Main Center of Special Monitoring.

"The quake epicenter was located at the depth of ten kilometers, in the Reshetilovka district of the Poltava region, west of Poltava. According to the quake classification, it ranks barely perceptible. Vibrations are felt only by certain people in a calm state, who stay indoors, especially on the upper floors," the report said.

Similar quakes have been reported in the Poltava region before, the latest of them happened on July 23, June 8, May 26 and January 14, 2023, and had a magnitude of 2.6, 3.7, 3.5 and 2.7.
