New Zealand imposes new sanctions on Russia

WASHINGTON. Feb 29 (Interfax) - New Zealand's Foreign Minister Winston Peters has announced a new package of sanctions against Russia due to the situation in Ukraine.

"New Zealand has sanctioned a further 61 Russian individuals and entities, including those involved in sanctions evasion procurement networks," Peters said in a statement published on the ministry's website.

The new sanctions target 45 individuals and 16 entities, the ministry said.

According to the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the country will also implement the price cap on Russian-origin oil.

New Zealand has also banned the export of restricted items to Russia and Belarus through third countries.
