Ukraine receives grants from Japan and Norway totaling $760 mln

MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Ukraine has received $760 million in grants from Japan and Norway, Ukrainian media reported, citing Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.

"The funds were received through the World Bank's PEACE in Ukraine program. They will be used to cover priority state-budget expenses," Shmygal posted on social media on Wednesday.

Shmygal said that Ukraine is counting on significant financial support from Japan in 2024.

Ukraine's total external financing needs are estimated at over $37 billion for 2024. Kiev's external financing totaled $31 billion in 2022, rising to $42 billion in 2023.
