MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Rosatom has received a number of applications from African countries to consider projects for constructing new nuclear power plants, CEO Alexei Likhachev said in the State Duma.

Interest in nuclear energy is returning particularly in South Africa, where there is demand for a floating NPP, Likhachev said.

Rosatom is also considering the construction of a mini-hydroelectric power station with one of the African countries, and the matter is at the fullest extent of being worked out, Likhachev said.
