Ukraine has already exported 28.6 mln tonnes of grain in 2023/2024 season - Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry

MOSCOW. Feb 27 (Interfax) - Ukraine has exported 28.579 million tonnes of grains and leguminous crops since the start of the 2023/2024 agricultural year (July-June), 4.703 million tonnes of which were shipped in February, Ukrainian media reported, quoting Denis Bashlyk, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food as saying on his Telegram channel with reference to State Customs Service data.

The statement says that, since the beginning of the current season, 11.237 million tonnes of wheat, 1.596 million tonnes of barley, 15.439 million tonnes of corn, and 1,000 tonnes of rye have been exported.

Ukrainian flour exports as of February 26 are estimated at 73,000 tonnes, including 69,300 tonnes of wheat flour.

Earlier, Bashlyk said that Ukraine's seasonal grain and leguminous crops harvest as of mid-February of this year came from an area of 10.609 million hectares, 97% of the plan, and that 58.993 million tonnes of grain were threshed.

The improved forecast from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy shows that the seasonal harvest of grains and oilseeds will be 81.3 million tonnes, which includes 59.7 million tonnes of grains and 21.6 million tonnes of oilseeds.
