Number of Belarusian defense plants included in 13th EU sanctions package

MINSK. Feb 26 (Interfax) - A number of Belarusian defense plants and individuals were included in the 13th package of sanctions approved by the European Union on February 23.

The package applies to Belarusian citizens Dmitry Shevtsov (secretary-general of the Belarusian Red Cross Society), Alexei Talai (Paralympian, charity founder), Dmitry Demidov (chairman of the Novopolotsk District Executive Committee), Sergei Astafurov (director of the Russian company Scientific and Technical Center Promtekhaero), and Vasily Shupranov (general director of the Nizhny Novgorod Machine-Building Plant).

The sanctions list also includes civilian and military optics manufacturer Peleng, 2566 Radioelectronic Armament Repair Plant and its director Valery Shatilo, and Orsha Aircraft Maintenance Plant and its director Pavel Sluchak.
