Alfa-Bank creates communications services subsidiary, preparing to launch a mobile operator
MOSCOW. Feb 22 (Interfax) - Alfa-Bank has created a subsidiary communications services company called Alfa-Mobile LLC, the Unified State Register of Legal Entities shows.
The charter capital of the new company is 100 million rubles.
Alfa Bank expects the company to begin providing communications services in the second half of 2024, Ivan Pyatkov, Deputy Chairman of the Board, and Director of the Bank's Retail Business said.
"The creation of a virtual mobile operator is one of the stages in the implementation of our retail business strategy, which is focused on expanding the range of non-financial services and strengthening the value proposition of the everyday bank model, while monetizing the growing portfolio of clients. The bank plans to offer its clients mobile communication services under the Alfa-Mobile brand in the second half of 2024. Currently, the top project team has been formed, and negotiations are underway with potential partners," he said.
Several large banks, such as Sberbank , VTB , Gazprombank and Tinkoff Bank , already have virtual mobile operators.
