Putin in reply to Biden's remark: I still believe he is more preferable to us

MOSCOW. Feb 22 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that, even despite United States President Joe Biden's rude remark concerning him, the latter's victory in the upcoming presidential election in the U.S. would be more preferable to Russia.

"We talked recently, and you asked me who would be more preferable to us as the next U.S. president, and I said that, while we would work with any president, I still suppose Biden would be more preferable to us, to Russia," Putin said in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.

"And considering what he's just said, I am absolutely right, because this is an appropriate reaction to what was said on my part," Putin said.

"Well, after all, he can't say, 'Volodya, good job, thanks, you've helped me a lot'," Putin said.

"We understand what's happening there from the domestic policy standpoint, and this reaction is absolutely appropriate, which means that I was right," he said.
