Azerbaijan imports $48.9 mln worth of chocolate in 2023, $19.6 mln from Russia
BAKU. Feb 21 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan imported 23,469.4 tonnes of chocolate in 2023 (a decrease of 2.5% compared to 2022) worth $48.92 million (an increase of 3.7%), the State Statistics Committee told Interfax.
Russia remains the largest supplier of chocolate to Azerbaijan. Specifically, last year, 9,895 tonnes of chocolate were imported from Russia (an increase of 0.4%) with a value of $19.62 million (a decrease of 7.1%). Russia accounted for 42.2% of all chocolate imported into Azerbaijan in 2023.
Another major supplier of chocolate to Azerbaijan was Ukraine. Ukraine exported 4,569 tonnes of chocolate in 2023, with a value of $10.37 million.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan exported 606.18 tonnes of chocolate in 2023 (a drop of 45.6%) worth $1.13 million (a decline of 45.8%).
