Russia exports 66.1 tonnes of frozen crabs worth $2 mln to UAE in 2023 - Agroexport

MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax) - Russia exported 66.1 tonnes of frozen crabs worth $1.85 million to the UAE in 2023, the Agriculture Ministry's Agroexport center said.

Exports exceeded 2022 figures 32.4-fold in volume, and 17.6-fold in value.

Among the companies systematically increasing exports of their products to Middle Eastern markets is Russian Crab, which is currently participating in the Gulfood2024 exhibition in Dubai, Agroexport said.

"Russian Crab branded products are available in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. We consider the market to be promising, as wild-caught crabs are valued by consumers in these countries as a delicacy and a healthy food product," Yulia Yurova, Deputy General Director for Commercial Issues at Russian Crab said. The main distribution channel for crabs in the UAE is HoReCa, she said.
