Gazprom CEO, Union State secretary discuss matters of interaction between Russia, Belarus in gas sector

MINSK. Feb 21 (Interfax) - Dmitry Mezentsev, Secretary of State of the Union State, and Alexei Miller, Gazprom CEO and executive board chairman, during a meeting discussed matters of interaction between Belarus and Russia in the gas sector, Gazprom's press service said on Tuesday.

"A working meeting took place today between PJSC Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and State Secretary of the Union State of Russia and Belarus Dmitry Mezentsev. Progress in Gazprom's interaction with Belarusian partners was reviewed during the meeting," the press service said.

"It was noted that cooperation takes into account the interests of the parties and is mutually beneficial. This assists in forming common approaches to creating the energy market of the Union State and continuing operations to pursue the decisions of the Supreme State Council of the Union State and the decree 'On the main directions for implementing the provisions of the Treaty on establishing the Union State for 2024 -2026', as signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on January 29, 2024," the press service said.

As reported, "Alexei Miller noted that construction of the Gazprom Center multifunctional complex in Minsk confirms the high level of cooperation between Russia and Belarus in the gas sector."
