Ukraine's bilateral security guarantees with other countries are interim stage on path toward NATO membership - head of Zelensky's office

MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax) - Agreements on bilateral security guarantees that Ukraine has concluded and is planning to conclude with a number of countries should be seen as an interim stage on the path toward full NATO membership as an ultimate security guarantee, Ukrainian media quoted head of the Ukrainian presidential office Andrei Yermak as saying in televised remarks.

The agreements that Ukraine signed with Germany and France on February 16 and the one it had previously signed with the United Kingdom cover numerous areas of cooperation, Yermak said.

All agreements on security guarantees that Ukraine has already concluded and is planning to conclude with other countries contain all the essential elements of the G7 Joint Declaration of support for Ukraine adopted at the NATO summit in Vilnius in summer 2023, Yermak said.
