SOCAR reduces gas exports to Georgia 21% in 2023

BAKU. Feb 21 (Interfax) - The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) reduced gas supplies to Georgia in 2023 21.4% versus the previous year.

"SOCAR gas exports to Georgia reached about 1.1 bcm in 2023 compared to 1.4 bcm in 2022," the Energy Minister told Interfax.

The ministry said that last year Georgia imported 2.5 bcm of Azerbaijani gas, including 1.4 bcm from the Shah Deniz field.

Currently, Azerbaijan is the main gas supplier to Georgia. SOCAR supplies gas through the Gazimagomed-Gazakh pipeline. Azerbaijani gas also goes to Georgia from the Shah Deniz field via the South Caucasus Pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum).
