Polish farmers block truck traffic at Dorohusk-Yagodin checkpoint - Kiev

MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax) - Truck traffic through the Dorohusk-Yagodin border checkpoint was blocked both ways by protesting Polish farmers on Sunday, Ukrainian media said, citing a statement by the State Customs Service on a social network.

"Despite promises of the protesters to let perishable, dangerous or humanitarian cargo pass, not a single truck has crossed the border since then," the statement said.

Buses are crossing the border normally, without standing in line.

"Videos posted online show that Polish protesters tried to hinder rail service in Dorohusk since February 18 noon, which could be a false start of the action previously announced for February 20," the State Customs Service said.

It also said that the participation of farmers from other countries in the Polish protest, announced on Tuesday, had not been confirmed so far.

Polish farmers are protesting against preferences provided by the European Union to Ukrainian agricultural exporters.
