Russian Energy Ministry hoping for approval of new energy strategy in June

MOSCOW. Feb 20 (Interfax) - Russia's new energy strategy through 2050 may be approved in June, Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov expects.

"Our proposal is to slightly shift the terms of adoption, approval, based on the events that are coming up (elections, government formation), to approve it somewhere at the half-year mark, somewhere in June. We are working on it," he said.

"There is already a working version of this energy strategy," Shulginov said. The ministry is already discussing it "with the expert community, we are starting to discuss it with other ministries," he said. "A version has already been shown to the government and we've proceeded to finalization," he said.

It was earlier envisaged that the strategy would be developed in H1 2023, then - by the end of 2023.
