Russian retailer X5 acquires distributor Forward Market in Bashkortostan

MOSCOW. Feb 20 (Interfax) - X5 Retail Group has agreed to acquire the Forward-Market business in Bashkortostan.

The company said that the deal would include ownership rights to distribution centers with an area of 28,000 sq. m and 47 cars.

The Federal Antimonopoly Service has already approved the deal.

The acquisition will help X5 develop its Okolo direct franchise concept, which the retailer is currently testing, Director of the "X5 for Business" project, Igor Pletnev said.
