Kiev outraged by anti-Ukrainian demonstrations in Poland

MOSCOW. Feb 19 (Interfax) - Anti-Ukrainian demonstrations in Poland and the blockade of the Polish-Ukrainian border cause damage to the Ukrainian economy and violate the principles of Ukrainian-Polish solidarity, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oleg Nikolenko said.

"The latest manifestations were particularly radical, such as the destruction of Ukrainian grain on the border and the demonstration of farmers with anti-Ukrainian slogans in Wroclaw. In addition to the blockade of the Polish-Ukrainian border, those actions not only cause damage to the Ukrainian economy, but also violate the principles of Ukrainian-Polish solidarity," Ukrainian media quoted Nikolenko as saying on social media.

"Ukraine has always favored a constructive approach toward issues related to Ukrainian grain transit and trade. We expect the Polish government to take an identical approach, including in effectively preventing unlawful deeds against Ukrainian cargo and properly responding to rhetoric that damages bilateral relations," Nikolenko said.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is convinced that no attempts to undermine the foundation of solidarity between Ukraine and Poland and their people would be successful, he said.
