Wildberries will complete construction of Rostov region distribution center by 2026- local govt

ROSTOV-ON-DON. Feb 16 (Interfax) - Online retailer Wildberries plans to complete construction of a distribution center in the Rostov region and put it into operation by the end of 2025, General Director of the Regional Development Corporation of the Rostov Region Mikhail Tikhonov said on Friday.

"Currently, this is the largest investor in terms of logistics in the Rostov region; today, construction has already begun. The company's plan is to complete and launch the project at the end of 2025," Tikhonov said.

The project involves the construction of a distribution center with a total area of over 150,000 sq. m., he said. The investment project should create about 7,500 jobs.

As reported, Governor of the Rostov Region Vasily Golubev and Wildberries General Director Tatyana Bakalchuk agreed on the construction of a Wildberries logistics center in the Rostov region at the end of 2022.

Previously, the cost of the project was estimated at 13.5 billion rubles, while the current estimate is 11.5 billion rubles.

Wildberries is the largest online retailer in Russia in terms of sales.
