Ukrainians to be able to receive transfers in Polish zloty via PrivatMoney, ZEN.com

MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - The Kiev-based state-owned PrivateBank and the European financial service ZEN.com have opened the opportunity for making transfers to Ukraine in Polish zloty (PLN) using the bank's PrivatMoney payment system, Ukrainian media outlets said with a reference to the bank's press statement released on Thursday.

"In order to make a money transfer to Ukraine in zloty via ZEN.com and PrivatMoney, one must have an active account in the ZEN.com app, select PLN as the transfer currency, indicate the recipient's name, surname, card number or IBAN account number in hryvni or IBAN account number in zloty in PrivatBank and make sure that PrivatMoney is listed in the section 'Type of transfer,'" the statement said.

The transferred money can be received either in hryvni on a personal card or in Polish zloty on a foreign currency account, it said.

In July 2023, ZEN.com became a partner of PrivatBank's PrivatMoney international money transfer system and launched the service for fast money transfers to cards and IBAN account numbers, it said.

"Since the service's launch in July 2023, Ukrainians have already received 35,000 ZEN.com transfers via PrivatBank totaling $6 million," the bank said.

According to the National Bank of Ukraine, as of December 1, 2023, PrivatBank was ranked first by the size of assets (883.03 billion hryvni) out of 63 banks operating in the country. In the fourth quarter of 2023, the bank's network expanded by one office, reaching 1,132, and became the second largest in the country.
