Ukrainian energy system operating normally, but 374 populated localities remain without electricity - Ukrenergo

MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - According to Ukraine's electricity transmission system operator Ukrenergo, the country's energy system is operating normally on Thursday, and the power generation is overall sufficient, Ukrainian media outlets said with a reference to Ukrenergo's social networks.

The system operator's high-voltage grid transmission capacity is enough to meet the existing demand, Ukrenergo said. The consumption level has remained nearly the same for the past few days thanks to stable weather.

At the same time, 374 populated localities in Ukraine remain without electricity for various reasons. In particular, 49 consumers remain cut off from power in the Dnepropetrovsk region for over 24 hours. A total of 24 consumers in a settlement in the Zakarpatia region have been left without electricity for four days now due to the flooding. Equipment of the regional power provider was damaged in Lvov, and blackouts ensued.

Electricity export has exceeded its import. Electricity is exported during the night and day to Slovakia, Poland, Romania, and Moldova in the total amount of 2,312 MW/h compared to 776 MW/h on Wednesday. Electricity is imported during the morning and evening from Slovakia, Romania, and Moldova in the amount of 571 MW/h compared to yesterday's 1,923 MW/h.
