Belarus's MAZ, Segezha Group discuss contract for 10 forwarders

MINSK. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) is developing models of specialized machinery for Russian forestry company Segezha Group , the Belarusian company said.

The management of MAZ and MAZ-Rus LLC held negotiations with representatives of Segezha at the Minsk plant "to agree on the technical specifications of models of vehicles included in the research and development plan for 2024 especially for Segezha Group's needs," MAZ said.

This refers to a forwarder with 6x6 wheel configuration, at least a 550 hp engine and four-axle trailer.

"We also discussed a potential deal: the first batch of 10 vehicles will be contracted in the fourth quarter of this year. In total, Segezha Group needs about 100 such forwarders," MAZ said.

The negotiations were preceded by a visit by MAZ designers and MAZ-Rus experts to the location where the vehicles will be used in 2023.
