Ukraine's deficit of foreign trade in goods up 2.5-fold in 2023 - Statistics Service

MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Ukraine's deficit of foreign trade in goods increased 2.5-fold to $27.376 billion in 2023 from $11.16 billion in 2022, Ukrainian media said, citing the State Statistics Service.

Exports of goods from Ukraine declined 18%% to $36.186 billion in 2023 year-on-year, while imports increased 14.9% to $63.562 billion, the State Statistics Service said.

Ukraine's seasonally adjusted exports grew 19.2% to $3.173 billion and imports were up 12.6% to $5.56 billion in December 2023 month-on-month, it said.

The seasonally adjusted trade deficit stood at $2.386 billion in December, up from $2.279 billion in November.

The export-import coverage ratio in 2023 was 0.57 (0.8 in 2022).

Ukraine maintained foreign trade with partners from 230 countries in 2023, the service said.
