Ukraine almost doubles steel output in Jan

MOSCOW. Feb 13 (Interfax) - Ukraine boosted steel roll output 80% to 453,000 tonnes in January 2024, from 257,000 tonnes in the same month of last year, Ukrainian media quoted the Ukrmetallurgprom association as saying.

Crude steel production grew 90% to 544,000 tonnes and pig iron rose 44.5% to 555,000 tonnes.

Ukraine's steel roll production grew 0.4% in 2023 to 5.372 million tonnes. Crude steel output fell, by 0.6% to 6.228 million tonnes, and pig iron fell 6.1% to 6.003 million tonnes.
