Ukrainian exports by maritime corridor near 22 mln tonnes - deputy PM

MOSCOW. Feb 12 (Interfax) - The Black Sea corridor unilaterally opened by Kiev in August 2023 has provided the exports of almost 22 million tonnes of goods, and transportation may be increased by another 25%, Ukrainian media said, citing Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Kubrakov who visited Black Sea ports.

"Over 22 million tonnes of various cargo have been exported since the opening of the temporary Black Sea corridor. More than 700 ships have used it since August," Kubrakov said on a social network.

The cargo is shipped from the three Greater Odessa ports: Chernomorsk, Odessa and Yuzhny, he said.

Over 22 million tonnes of cargo are not the limit, Kubrakov said. Renovation of the ports and infrastructure, including highways and a railroad, can increase the volumes by at least 25% with proper security conditions, he said.
