Motor checkpoint to open at Ukrainian-Polish border

MOSCOW. Feb 12 (Interfax) - The Nizhankovichi-Malchowice checkpoint at the Ukrainian-Polish border will open in Ukraine's Lvov region within the next six months, Ukrainian media said, citing head of the Lvov regional military administration Maxim Kozitsky as saying.

Kozitsky and new head of Poland's Podkarpackie Voivodeship Teresa Kubas-Gul inspected work at the future motor checkpoint on Saturday.

"The project has entered the final stage," Kozitsky said on a social network.

The Lvov regional military administration has proposed in a statement to the Ukrainian Restoration Ministry that the agreement on opening the Nizhankovichi-Malchowice international motor checkpoint be augmented with a railroad checkpoint provision. The Podkarpackie Voivodeship made a similar proposal to the respective Polish ministry, Kozitsky said.
