Belarusian-Russian trade reaches $53 bln in 2023 - Belarusian PM

MINSK. Feb 9 (Interfax) - Belarusian-Russian trade reached some $53 billion in 2023, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at the opening ceremony of the Belarus-Bashkortostan business forum in Minsk.

"To some degree, the external events involving our countries incentivized us to strengthen bilateral relations. These external challenges and threats only made our countries closer, and we strengthened integration processes," Golovchenko was quoted as saying by the state-run agency BelTA.

Belarusian-Russian trade reached some $53 billion in 2023, he said.

"We became closer to each other. We exceeded last year's result, which was already high, by six percent. This is a great success. But it didn't come from nowhere. It is these streams, which are formed at various events, conferences, meetings [and at] negotiations, that form this big river of bilateral trade," he said.
