Gazprom deliveries to China again reach new record on Weds

MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax) - Gazprom continues to set new gas export records to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline.

"On February 7, Gazprom, for the sixth time since the beginning of the year, renewed the historical record of daily pipeline gas deliveries to China," the company said in a statement. Deliveries through the Power of Siberia pipeline "once again exceeded the company's daily contractual obligations."

Deliveries through the Power of Siberia pipeline are carried out under a bilateral long-term gas purchase and sale agreement between Gazprom and CNPC.

Since January, daily deliveries have been brought to a new level stipulated by the contract for 2024.

A contractual volume of 30 billion cubic meters is in effect for this year, after 22 billion cubic meters in 2023 (22.7 billion cubic meters were actually delivered). In 2025, Power of Siberia will reach its full export capacity of 38 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

Russian gas supplies to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline began in 2019 from the Chayandinskoye field located in Yakutia. In 2022, the Kovykta field in the Irkutsk Region was connected to the system.
