Passenger terminal to be built at Uzhgorod-Vysne-Nemecke checkpoint on Ukrainian-Slovak border

MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax) - A passenger terminal with several lanes of traffic for passenger buses will be built at the Uzhgorod-Vysne-Nemecke border checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Slovak border by the end of 2024, Ukrainian Deputy Restoration Minister Sergei Derkach said at an online meeting with truckers on Thursday.

"We are planning to complete it this year [...] we will build a separate terminal at the Uzhgorod border checkpoint, specifically a passenger one with several lanes. Also, [we are planning to] remove the line for buses from the freight part of the checkpoint," Ukrainian media quoted Derkach as saying.

Similar projects are also planned at other border checkpoints, in particular, on the border with Romania, which will increase their throughput capacity.
