Voting ballots in Russian presidential election to include 4 candidates - CEC

MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax) - Voting ballots in the upcoming presidential election in Russia will include four candidates, Russian Central Elections Commission (CEC) Chair Ella Pamfilova said.

"Based on the outcomes of our today's meeting, we have full clarity that there'll be four candidates on the voting ballots," Pamfilova said at a CEC meeting on Thursday.

The CEC earlier registered Liberal-Democratic Party leader Leonid Slutsky, State Duma Deputy Chairman Vladislav Davankov of the New People party, and State Duma member Nikolai Kharitonov of the Communist Party as candidates in the upcoming presidential election. On January 29, the CEC also registered incumbent President Vladimir Putin as a self-nominated presidential candidate.

The presidential election in Russia is scheduled for March 15 to 17.
