Aliyev winning 92.05% of vote in Azerbaijani presidential election as 93.35% of ballots counted - CEC
BAKU. Feb 8 (Interfax) - Incumbent President Ilham Aliyev is winning 92.05% of the vote in Azerbaijan's early presidential election, Azerbaijani Central Elections Commission (CEC) Chair Mazakhir Panakhov said at a press conference.
The CEC has already counted 93.35% of the ballots cast in the election, Panakhov said.
These figures show that Aliyev is heading to a landslide win in the presidential election, he said.
As for the other candidates, Zahid Oruj is receiving 2.19%, Fazil Mustafa 2%, Gudrat Gasanguliyev 1.76%, Razi Nurullayev 0.8%, Elshad Musayev 0.67%, and Fuad Aliyev 0.53%, Panakhov said.
Panakhov said earlier that 4,971,032 citizens, or 76.73% of all eligible voters, cast their ballots in the snap presidential election in Azerbaijan on Wednesday.
