USAID purchases 85 grain wagons for Louis Dreyfus

MOSCOW. Feb 7 (Interfax) - The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Economic Resilience Activity (ERA) project has purchased 85 grain wagons for Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC), a major exporter of Ukrainian grain and oilseeds among foreign companies, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the project's social media post.

The first 20 of these wagons have been delivered to one of the company's elevators, it said.

Louis Dreyfus expects the use of more wagons would increase grain exports by 110,000 tonnes annually and would enable it to expand its geographical scope and ship grain from parts of Ukraine where this has previously been impossible.

Louis Dreyfus owns 660 wagons. It exports grain to Asian, African, and European countries.

Equipment for Ukrainian agricultural companies has been procured under USAID's Agricultural Sustainability Initiative in Ukraine (AGRI-Ukraine), USAID said.
