Hungary interested in receiving Kazakh oil at its own refineries, and in purchasing gas condensate from Rozhkovskoye field

ASTANA. Feb 7 (Interfax) - Hungary has expressed great interest in shipments of Kazakh oil for processing at its own oil refineries, as well as the import of gas condensate from the Rozhkovskoye field, the press service of KazMunayGas (KMG) reported.

The press service said that a KMG delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Board Serikkali Brekeshev and Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Hungary Zhanibek Abrashov met in Budapest with Hungary's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Levente Magyar and representatives of Hungary's MOL Group. At the meeting, key aspects of cooperation in the field of petrochemicals were discussed, including development of the Rozhkovskoye field, shipments of oil and gas condensate, and cooperation in the field of advanced gas processing.

"The Hungarian side has expressed great interest in shipments of Kazakh oil for processing at Hungarian oil refineries, as well as in the export of gas condensate from the Rozhkovskoye field," the statement said.

KazMunayGas representatives spoke "about the benefits of a possible joint petrochemical project using the Rozhkovskoye field as a gas feedstock."

"Since the Hungarian side was interested in the promising project, a joint action plan was developed to begin its implementation," the KMG press service said.

Rozhkovskoye is a large gas condensate field in the West Kazakhstan region, which entered into commercial operation on December 21, 2023. The field will produce about 1 bcm of gas and more than 500,000 tonnes of condensate per year. The annual production volume of liquefied gas the domestic market will exceed 150,000 tonnes.
