CanBaikal and Neftisa entities boost oil production 5% in 2023 to record 1.67 mln tonnes

KHANTY-MANSIYSK. Feb 6 (Interfax) - CanBaikal LLC (an asset of JSC NK Neftisa), which carries out development and production at four hydrocarbon fields in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District, produced 1.665 million tonnes of oil in 2023, according to a statement on the company's website.

"This is a new height that has been reached by the company for the first time since its formation," the statement said.

In 2022, CanBaikal produced 1.585 million tonnes of oil. Thus, last year the indicator grew by 5%.

According to the company's information, 35 oil wells were commissioned in 2023. The total increase in oil reserves amounted to 7.4 million tonnes.

In 2024, the company plans to drill two prospecting and exploration wells, perform 3D seismic survey of 209 square kilometers in the North Aikurusky subsoil area and commission 31 oil wells.

KanBaikal LLC was established in 2014 and has been part of the Neftisa Group since its foundation; its head office is located in Nefteyugansk. Currently, the company produces oil at four fields: Zapadno-Malobalykskoye, Untygeyskoye, Atayskoye and Ayskoye.

The company is also a production operator for Yurskneft LLC, CanBaikal Resources Inc. (Canada, the founder of CanBaikal, part of Neftisa Group) and Atayneft LLC.

NK Neftisa was founded in 2008 by businessman Mikhail Gutseriev. The group of companies unites more than 20 enterprises mostly engaged in production. The geography of their operations covers several major regions of Russia: the Samara, Novosibirsk and Tyumen Regions, the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District, the Perm Territory, the Udmurt Republic and the Komi Republic.
