China Eastern Airlines to launch daily flights from Shanghai to St. Petersburg as of March 31

ST. PETERSBURG. Feb 6 (Interfax) - China Eastern Airlines (SPB: 670) will launch direct flights from Shanghai to St. Petersburg, Pulkovo Airport, as of March 31, the press service of Northern Capital Gateway LLC (NCG), the operator of Pulkovo Airport, said in a statement.

China Eastern Airlines will launch a flight program to Shanghai as part of its spring/summer schedule. The airline previously operated regular flights on the route as part of summer navigation in 2019 and 2023.

"Flights to Beijing and Chengdu will also operate from Pulkovo Airport during the summer," the press service said.

As reported, Sichuan Airlines operated flights from Chengdu to St. Petersburg in the summer of 2023, and Hainan Airlines operated flights to Beijing.

China Eastern Airlines is based at Hongqiao and Pudong airports in Shanghai.

Pulkovo is one of the five largest airports in Russia. The airport increased passenger traffic 12% to a record 20.4 million people in 2023. The base carrier is Rossiya Airlines.
