Almost 66,000 cyberattacks at Russian critical infrastructure repelled in 2023 - deputy PM

MOSCOW. Feb 6 (Interfax) - Around 65,700 cyberattacks at Russian critical infrastructure facilities were repelled last year, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said.

Some 174,000 cyberattacks at critical infrastructure were repelled in 2022, Chernyshenko said in a presentation at the Digital Economy forum at the Russia Expo exhibition and forum.

In 2023, 1,850 incidents were mitigated versus 2,300 the year before.

Around 28,900 phishing sites were blocked in 2022, compared to over 150,000 in 2023, the presentation says.

Critical information infrastructure includes major facilities of industry, energy, communications, transport, healthcare, defense, banking and other key sectors of the economy.
