Total of 184 models of passenger cars to be subject to luxury tax in Ukraine

MOSCOW. Feb 5 (Interfax) - A total of 184 models of passenger car of such brands as Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Cadillac, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lexus, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Rivian, and Tesla fall under a transportation tax of UAH 25,000 in Ukraine in 2024, Ukrainian media reported citing reports of Ukrautoprom and the Economy Ministry on social media.

Cars up to five years old and costing from 375 minimum wages, currently the minimum wage is UAH 7,100, i.e. in 2024 it is UAH 2,662.5 million and above, fall under the luxury tax, Ukrautoprom said.

According to the list, Mercedes-Benz with 66 models, including 13 electric cars, and BMW with 48 models, including five electric cars, followed by Land Rover with 17 models, 21 models in 2023, fall under the tax.

Porsche have 16 models on the list, as compared to 79 last year, when they led the list in terms of the number of models on the list, and Toyota have left the list of cars subject to the luxury tax. Last year, four Toyota Land Cruiser models were included on the list.

At the same time, unlike last year, the list includes 16 Aston Martin models with gasoline engines, five Audi models, including a RS e-tron GT electric car, Cadillac Escalade, two models of Maserati and Rivian R1T.

Ukrautoprom also noted that it is necessary to pay the tax for individuals within 60 days after receipt of the notice, and for legal entities by quarterly advance installments until the 30th day of the month following the reporting quarter, which is reported in the annual tax declaration.

As reported, 225 models of cars of nine brands, namely Bentley, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Tesla, and Toyota, costing from UAH 2.51 million were subject to the transportation tax in 2023.
