Russia streamlines access to international haulage

MOSCOW. Feb 5 (Interfax) - The amount of time it takes to provide government services to Russian trucking firms to obtain access to international haulage will be shortened from 20 to five working days on September 1, 2024.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed a resolution on the matter, according to a statement posted on the government website on Sunday.

"The number of documents needed to obtain access will also be reduced. Depending on the requirements for carriers of certain cargoes, transport companies will be able to send up to three documents to Rostransnadzor [the transport watchdog]. The rest can be received within the framework of the inter-agency electronic interaction system," the statement says.

The decision "will make it possible to reduce business costs and increase foreign trade volumes," it said,
