Exports via Ukrainian sea corridor reach 20 mln tonnes - deputy PM

MOSCOW. Feb 5 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian sea corridor, which was declared unilaterally by Kiev, has provided exports of almost 20 million tonnes of products, including 14.3 million tonnes of agricultural products, since August 2023, Ukrainian media reported, citing Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Restoration Alexander Kubrakov.

"For six months of operation of the Ukrainian corridor from the ports of Greater Odessa 661 vessels have exported over 20 million tonnes of goods to 32 countries of the world," the ministry said on social media.

In total, 6.3 million tonnes were exported from the ports of Greater Odessa in January, which is almost equal to the pre-crisis levels, the statement said. The approach of another 104 ships, which should ship over 3 million tonnes of goods, is expected.

As previously reported, exports along the Ukrainian sea corridor reached 15 million tonnes. Exports along the corridor in September-November totaled 6.08 million tonnes: 0.28 million tonnes in September, 2 million tonnes in October and 3.8 million tonnes in November. The Ministry of Restoration expected exports could reach 5 million tonnes in December. However, in Kubrakov's words, it was close to 7 million tonnes in December.

It was noted that the number of vessels increased to 110 in November from 52 in October and five in September, while their total for the three months amounted to 167.
