Ukrainian government delegation to visit Tokyo in Feb - PM

MOSCOW. Feb 5 (Interfax) - A Ukrainian government delegation will visit Tokyo, Japan, in February to take part in a conference on recovery and economic growth, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

"This month our government delegation will visit Tokyo, where a Japanese-Ukrainian conference on recovery and economic growth will be held. We want to reach a new level of cooperation, especially in investments and joint projects," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying at a government meeting last Friday.

The financial assistance from Japan has already exceeded $4.5 billion, and that country ranks fourth among partners in terms of the amount of budgetary support provided, Shmygal said.

"We are grateful for this. Moreover, we see a genuine interest of Japan, the Japanese government and Japanese businesses in Ukraine. We see interest in joint projects in various areas. We see interest in Ukraine as an investment platform," he added.
