Russian govt to discuss including several ports in Northern Sea Route development plan by March

MOSCOW. Feb 5 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has tasked the government, Rosatom state corporation and regional authorities with considering the feasibility of including several projects in the Northern Sea Route development plan for the period until 2035.

This was one of the orders given after Putin's working trip to the Arkhangelsk region on December 11, 2023, and published on the Kremlin website.

Projects to build a deep-water section at the Arkhangelsk port, renovate the White Sea-Baltic Canal and the Kem and Belomorsk ports in Karelia, and build the Naiba deep-water area in Yakutia are to be considered by March 1, 2024.
