Strategic Nuclear Forces upgrade almost complete - Putin
TULA. Feb 2 (Interfax) - The upgrade of Russia's Strategic Nuclear Forces is nearly completed, including their naval component at almost 100%, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"Our Strategic Nuclear Forces have by now been modernized practically in full, at 95% [...] And their naval component, at almost 100%," Putin said at the Everything for Victory forum of the All-Russian People's Front on Friday.
"We will seek the same results in equipping the army and the navy across the entire [product] line of conventional weapons, including the prospective next-generation ones. And we will definitely realize these plans together with you," he said.
Defense manufacturers and design bureaus "will have a guaranteed supply of orders for years ahead," production lines will be upgraded and expanded, Putin said.
