U.S. inspectors general, Ukrainian defense minister discuss accountability of U.S. military aid
MOSCOW. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Inspectors general from the U.S. Department of State, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Department of Defense have met with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, U.S. Ambassador in Kiev Bridget Brink said.
"Today the inspectors general of the U.S. Department of State, USAID and the Department of Defense met with [Ukrainian] Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. We discussed the importance of oversight and accountability of U.S. security assistance and the Defense Ministry's efforts to assure this oversight," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Brink as saying in a social media post.
The U.S. ambassador said on January 29 that three inspectors general of the U.S. Department of Defense, the Department of State and USAID had arrived in Kiev.
