Russia ready to help Kyrgyzstan deal with aftermath of Bishkek heat and power plant accident - Mishustin

ALMATY. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Russia stands ready to help the Kyrgyz authorities tackle the aftermath of the accident at Bishkek's combined heat and power plant, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

"We expect the situation to be sorted out in the near future, and Russia, and obviously all colleagues, is always ready to help deal with this accident," Mishustin said at the start of his speech at the plenary session of the Digital Almaty: Industry X international forum.

An accident occurred at Bishkek's combined heat and power plant overnight into Friday. Preliminary information suggests that one of its boilers exploded. An official statement regarding the cause of the accident is yet to be issued. According to the Kyrgyz Health Ministry, five people were injured in the accident.
