Accident occurs at Bishkek combined heat and power plant - utility company

BISHKEK. Feb 2 (Interfax) - An accident has been reported at Bishkek's combined heat and power plant in Kyrgyzstan, a Bishkekteploset utility company spokesperson told Interfax.

No official cause of the accident has been given yet. Bishkek Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliyev is heading to the facility, where teams from emergency and rescue services are also working.

Bishkek residents said on social media that several districts of the city have been left without heat and electricity.

The Bishkek mayor has also ordered all schools and kindergartens in the city to temporarily work remotely due to the accident.
