Ukrainian-Turkish Reconstruction Task Force set up in Istanbul

MOSCOW. Feb 1 (Interfax) - Participants in a forum on Ukraine's recovery in Istanbul have set up a Ukrainian-Turkish Reconstruction Task Force, which will focus on implementing projects in the road infrastructure, water transport, and aviation sectors, Ukrainian media have reported citing the Reconstruction Ministry's social media post.

The group's priorities will include projects of road infrastructure reconstruction, the construction of temporary bridges and interchanges on key routes, the reconstruction and development of water transport infrastructure, the protection of critical infrastructure and housing reconstruction, and cooperation in the aviation sector, it said.

"Aviation. We're prepared for cooperation as soon as air traffic is resumed. Over the past two years, the ministry has focused on retaining highly qualified aviation personnel, maintaining the aviation infrastructure in proper condition, and deregulating the industry. All of this would enable us to reopen air traffic as soon as the security situation allows for that," media quoted Reconstruction Minister Alexander Kubrakov as saying on his social account.

As concerns water transport, the participants discussed proposals and design solutions for Ukraine's water territory and seaports, Kubrakov said. "We see that companies are willing to invest in the development of marine logistics and infrastructure," he said.

Turkish businesses have extensive expertise in the road infrastructure sector, have been involved in building bridges in Zaporozhye and Kremenchug, and have proven to be reliable partners, Kubrakov said.
