KEPCO to inspect power plants in Kazakhstan

ALMATY. Jan 31 (Interfax) - South Korea's KEPCO will conduct inspections at Kazakhstan-based heat and power plants in Astana, Pavlodar, Almaty and Topar, a village in the Karaganda region, the Kazakh Energy Ministry said in a Wednesday press release.

Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev held a meeting on Wednesday with vice presidents and representatives of Korean power corporations KEPCO and Doosan Enerbility to discuss inspections that will be conducted at power plants with a view to investment.

"Following the inspections, we will expect your assessment reports to give us guidance on further operation of the power plants, their modernization and the reduction of the environment impact," Satkaliyev is quoted as saying.

He said the Energy Ministry would provide the Korean inspectors with all necessary support.
