Haval recalls 32,200 cars in Russia due to potential electrical issues

MOSCOW. Jan 29 (Interfax) - The Russian automobile plant belonging to Chinese Great Wall (Haval Motor Manufacturing Rus LLC), is recalling 32,156 locally produced Haval cars in Russia due to potential electrical wiring problems, regulator Rosstandart said.

The recall applies to Haval F7 and F7x model vehicles sold from December 1, 2022 through December 27, 2023.

"There is the possibility that moisture could get into the connector of the wiring harness under the driver's seat, followed by a short circuit in the electrical wiring, which could lead to the connector melting," Rosstandart said as it explained the reason for the recall.

Haval Motor will inform the owners of vehicles affected by the recall by letter or telephone. Owners can independently verify if their car has been recalled on the Rosstandart website or by using the Auto.ru service.

On recalled vehicles, the wiring harness connector will be reworked to eliminate the risk of moisture ingress. Work done as part of the recall campaign will be free of charge for owners, the agency said.
