Russia's trade with Uzbekistan up nearly 5.5% in 2023

ROSTOV-ON-DON. Jan 26 (Interfax) - Trade between Russia and Uzbekistan in 2023 rose to $9.8 billion, the Uzbek Consul General in Rostov-on-Don, Burkhan Alikulov, said at an annual function for heads of diplomatic missions on Friday.

This represents an increase of 5.4% on the $9.3 billion recorded in 2022, Alikulov said.

Uzbekistan is keen to further strengthen its economic ties with Russia and tourism cooperation, he said.

"I think this year we will finish the project [to develop cooperation between the two countries' tour operators] and further increase the flow of tourists between our countries. We hope that the logistics issues and other aspects which temporarily restrain our potential will be resolved in the very near future," Alikulov said.
