Ukrgazvydobuvannya commissions new well producing 250,000 cubic meters of gas per day

MOSCOW. Jan 26 (Interfax) - Ukrgazvydobuvannya (UGV) commissioned a nee exploration well with daily gas flow of 250,000 cubic meters per day at the beginning of January, Ukrainian media reported, quoting the Naftogaz of Ukraine press service.

The well is 3,950 meters deep and was drilled by UGV's Ukrburgaz branch.

The press office said this was the tenth well as the field in question to have produced high yield. The company continues to look at its potential and is ramping up production with new technologies and engineering solutions.

"We have good 3D seismic data for the field, enabling us to identify the ideal locations for new wells. Ten exploration wells have complemented the geological information picture, and we plan to begin production drilling as early as this year," said UGV head Oleg Tolmachev.

UGV aimed to boost gas production by 1 billion cubic meters to 13.5 bcm in 2023. Saleable gas production fell 3% to 12.5 bcm in 2022.

According to preliminary data, gas production rose more than 700 million cubic meters in 2023. UGV was producing an average daily 37.5 mcm at the end of 2023.

Naftogaz owns 100% of UGV.
